Cultural Olympiad Cargoes

More of the crockery set made for the Ignite project. The soup bowls have a canal water level measure which allow the consumer to see how much soup they have consumed. The bread and butter plate has footprints relating to the wall walking that takes place to move the narrowboats through canal tunnels. The continuous line is inspired by cotton spinning at Arkwright's Cotton Mill on the Cromford Canal at Cromford, Derbyshire.

Cultural Olympiad Cargoes

I made a tea set for the second phase of this Ignite project Cargoes run by Rick Hall, Hasmita Chavda and Amy Turner. The tea set is a tribute to the Canal and Mills and their engineers.

First of all, 4 tribute cups and saucers.
